Here is one thing i have been very stuck with. I have HP mini, which only had 8G SSD. There I wanted to use a SD card as my secondary storage. But when I put a runnable say eclipse, it would start, tried chmod ad chown. nothing works.
Here is the solution;
1.umount your sd card,
2. at /media, create your folder to be mounted, for me, it is /media/sdcard
3. mount with this command, mount -o exec /dev/sdb1 /media/sdcard/
4. go to your terminal, and ll, you will see the file turns green, meaning it is executable now.
